Cambodia Collaboration Market Day

About

The Tommy More Community Market invites stallholders and sponsors to participate in our annual event to raise funds for vulnerable children in Cambodia. This is an opportunity to market your product and brand to students, alumni, and Chapel Community at Tommy More.

Funds raised from the event will go directly to the Arrupe Centre and Lidy House in Cambodia (a partner institution of St Thomas More College) that provides care, education, and life skills to children who are disabled, often as a result of landmine accidents or live in vulnerable family situations.

On the day, we have lots of activities, entertainment and stalls for you to take part in at the Tommy More Community Market. This includes face painting, entertainment, sausage sizzle, Op Shop, plant sale, bake sale, food stalls a raffle, games and more!

Our Cause

The funds raised from our Market assist with the funding of the Lidy House Welcome Centre (Lidy House). This is a home for vulnerable young people who, without the assistance of the Prefecture, would be destined for unemployment or precarious employment with the increased risk of falling into the hands of people traffickers.

Lidy House is neither an Orphanage nor a Boarding School, but it does provide care and education to children in vulnerable situations in Cambodia. These are children whose families can no longer support them, and who may otherwise be sold or forced to work instead of going to school.

St Thomas More College also supports the Arrupe Centre in Cambodia, which cares for disabled (often landmine-related) children. Each year, a small number of students at Tommy More receive the opportunity to travel to the centre in Cambodia to assist in bringing children at the centre to the Angkor Wat International Half Marathon, a globally-recognised event that raises funds for and awareness of landmine clearing in Cambodia. Students who travel to Cambodia self-fund their trip and additionally fundraise to support this objective.
