Social Events to Love at Tommy More

St Thomas More College provides opportunities for students to engage in a range of activities and events, fostering friendships that last a lifetime. Every year, coordinated by a Social Representative, in collaboration with the Student Club Committee, these events aim to ensure inclusivity and enjoyment for all. Examples of such events include The Swan Valley Cultural Tour, Karaoke Night, The Great Escape, and the Tommy Ball - there's something for everyone to enjoy and bond over.

Swan Valley Cultural Tour

This gathering marked the kickoff for the year, serving as a fantastic opportunity to unite the College community through a delightful excursion to the Swan Valley. Adding a playful twist, we themed the day as Rodeo/Western, resulting with everyone decked out in their cowboy and cowgirl attire. The day was packed with laughter and fond memories as we toured the Margaret River Chocolate Factory, an Ice-Creamery, and picturesque wineries, where we savoured a delicious lunch amidst scenic vineyards. These visits provided ample opportunities for residents to forge new friendships and create lasting memories together. Wrapping up the day, we gathered at a charming restaurant in Elizabeth Quay, basking in the beauty of the Perth sunset.

Karaoke Night

Karaoke night is consistently a blast, filled with laughter and plenty of singing. This year, we took the fun into the City, where everyone belted out their favourite tunes. Dressed in creative costumes, we were all set for an unforgettable evening. Whether you're a seasoned singer or just someone who sings in the shower, this night is for everyone. With lots of dancing and singing, it's a chance to step out of your comfort zone and create lasting memories with friends old and new.

The Great Escape

The Great Escape is undoubtedly one of Tommy's standout events, etching lasting memories for all involved. This event promises a blast for everyone. It's essentially a scavenger hunt through the suburbs near Tommy, where teams, comprised of friends, select a theme for their costumes. Each team then receives a list of challenges to complete around Perth, earning points along the way to compete for victory. Returning to Tommy, scores are tallied, setting the stage for an evening disco where residents can let loose on the dance floor with their teammates, celebrating a day packed with camaraderie and excitement.

Tommy Ball

The Tommy Ball is the second biggest event of the year (next to the Valedictory Dinner), where residents dress to the nines for a truly memorable evening. Last year's Ball, hosted at Optus Stadium, was nothing short of spectacular, featuring a lavish three-course meal and breathtaking views of the river from the dance floor. It's an occasion that truly unites the Tommy community, offering a wholesome and beautiful night that all the residents love.

Overall, St Thomas More College offers a vibrant full social calendar packed with events designed to encourage interaction and forge connections among residents. These events enjoy widespread popularity each year and are coordinated to provide a safe yet incredibly enjoyable environment.
