Respectful Relationships
Commitment to a Safe & Respectful Environment
At Tommy More, you matter. Respect, diversity and inclusiveness are embedded in all that we do. In accordance with the National Higher Education Code to Prevent and Respond to Gender-Based Violence (2026), St Thomas More College is committed to providing a living and learning environment free from harassment, discrimination, and all forms of gender-based violence. This page outlines how we foster a safe, respectful, and caring community, and where you can access support when you need it.
Preventing and Responding to Gender-Based Violence
Gender-based violence refers to violence, abuse, harassment, or other harmful behaviours directed at a person because of their gender, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, or behaviours that disproportionately impact people of a particular gender. This includes, but is not limited to, sexual harm, intimate partner violence, coercive control, stalking, image-based abuse, emotional or psychological abuse, and related behaviours.

Our approach to gender-based violence focuses on prevention, response, and recovery. We foster a respectful and inclusive culture, intervene early when concerns arise, respond in trauma-informed ways if harm occurs, and provide ongoing support to help individuals recover and continue to participate safely in College life. In line with the National Higher Education Code to Prevent and Respond to Gender-Based Violence, Tommy More’s Gender-Based Violence Prevention and Response Policy outlines how we implement these measures and manage concerns within the residential environment.
Support & Reporting

Tommy More is committed to ensuring a community where every resident feels safe, supported, and listened to. In addition to support available at Tommy, UWA provides extensive support services for students, including counselling, wellbeing, and reporting pathways, which can be accessed here: UWA Student Support Services.
